Founded in 1937, UCC Choral Society is one of the largest, most active and successful society’s in the college.
We rehearse every Tuesday in the Geography Building from 7pm to 9.30pm. There is always a social afterwards, which is a great chance for people to get to know one another.
Every year, we hold two concerts, one in each semester.
At the end of Semester One, we hold our Carols by Candlelight concert. This runs for 3 nights and is always a sell out show. For many people, it marks the beginning of the festive season.
At the end of Semester Two, we hold our Sounds of Spring concert. This is a one night event in aid of a different charity each year.
Every year, the choir travel to an International competition in the second semester. In past years, we have competed in Verona, Olamouc, Ghent, Budapest and Prague. Most recently, we won gold in our catergory in Olomouc 2015!
We also take part in competitions in Ireland. Most recently, we came joint second in the Limerick Choral Festival sacred music competition in February 2016!
This is a small sub section of UCC Choral Society. They are small chamber choir which compete regularly both in Cork and nationally. Established in September 2014, they have been in credibly successful since beginning.
